Welcome to the second issue of Reign, Denver's Authority on Fabulous! Let us extend a big thank you for the many emails, phone calls and notes of support we received. It is because of you, gorgeous readers, that we're scouring the city and gracing your inbox with what we think is fun, fashionable and of course, fabulous. We want to encourage you to keep the letters coming (we love mail)! Whether you've stumbled upon a product we simply must know about, a wine bar

where we should be raising our glasses, a charity event that will warm our hearts or a snazzy new restaurant that will knock our socks off, we want to know about it! Send your tips to betsy@reigndenver.com.

We hope you enjoy each and every issue to come, and promise to keep them chock-full of items that will make life just a little bit more fab. We also hope you'll join us next month at our first in a series of events, "Hello...My Name is Fabulous!" These "pink carpet" soirees will be held in the most happening hot spots around the city. We'll be exploring the latest spas, most delectable eateries, must see boutiques and more. "Hello...My Name is Fabulous" will connect you with other girly girls to swap stories and suggestions while sipping on a little bubbly and noshing on a cupcake (or two). If you think your business is perfect for our crowd, please get in contact to find out how to become one of our gracious hostesses.

|
Finally, and most importantly, we hope you'll support as as we unveil our first charitable project, Operation Princess. Together, we'll collect funds, fashions and other necessities so that disadvantaged teen girls who have displayed academic and social stewardship can attend their local proms this spring. From makeup, to hair stylists to dresses and accessories, we're covering it all so that these very special young ladies don't miss the ball. We're passionate about giving back to girls, and details on this worthwhile project are coming soon!

In the meantime, we thank you again for spreading the word about Reign!

PS. You're receiving this, dear friends, because for one reason or another, we have your email address and thought you'd love what we have to say. Whether you're a personal friend, business acquaintance or gal who attended one of our events, you, Miss Lovely, are on our "list." Of course, the last thing we want to do is send emails that you'd just soon not get. So if that's the case, please visit the unsubscribe link at the bottom of this page and we'll cross you off our RSVP list. Although this is one party we really don't think you should miss...

We all have one. It lurks in our bathroom, or sometimes our linen closet. Others may hide the horror under the sink, but we still know it's there. We're speaking, dear friends, of the cupboard of shame. Your secret beauty stash that you can't seem to part with. The bottles upon bottles of hair products that you couldn't live without, but used only once. The new blow dryer that was sure to cut your drying time in half. And don't forget the ionic flatiron guaranteed to miraculously mend your split ends.

Don't fret, fellow beauty mavens. Thanks to Jeffrey Miller and his big-hearted team at Old South Gaylord's Flirt Salon, your passed over products will (literally) go to a good home. Through March, Flirt is taking all of your gently used tools, lotions and potions and donating them to Volunteers of America's Brandon House, a shelter for battered women, homeless women and their children. For every product you pitch, you'll get 25% off a brand new one. And while this may not be solving your product overload problem, your hair will thank you for investing in Kevin Murphy's collection. We love this Aussie-based line for its sleek and beautiful packaging, aromatherapeutic properties, and one-of-a-kind styling aids. Try Body Guard to hydrate your over-processed Colorado hair, or our fave, Beach Resort, to give you that sexy, just frolicked in the sand and saltwater flair. Flirt Salon, 1039 South Gaylord Street, Denver, 720.570.3540.

The scene is all too familiar. You scour the local standards for the perfect outfit. The one that hides your flaws and makes you look and feel gorgeous. You purchase said outfit, glam it up with a few accessories and some stilettos, and step out for a night on the town. You enter the latest tony watering hole only to find that six other fashionistas are wearing the Exact. Same. Thing. You cringe in horror. You vow to curate a careful collection of only the most fabulous couture and vintage clothing. You'll don niche designers that the girl who dared wear your outfit would never have the fashion foresight to choose.
Then, you wake up. You have a bustling life to live, and whether it's filled with meetings in the boardroom or the playroom, you rarely have a second to shop, let alone "curate" a wardrobe.

Fortunately, there's Goldyn, the Denver-based online clothing store that brings all of those niche and vintage designers, the ones you dream of filling your closet with, right to you. The brainchild of Melissa Gelfand and business partner Vanessa Barcus, the Goldyn gals have an uncanny knack for translating runway into everyday. The pair scours the scene for celebrity and cult favorites like handbags by Andrea Brueckner and Botiker as well as up and comers like Charlotte Ronson with old favorites Trina Turk and Joe's Jeans mixed in. The best part? It's all a mouse click away. With an online fit guide and free shipping on orders over $100, you'll look like you were styled by Rachel Zoe herself. Minus the attitude, of course. Kids will be kids. A common truth that once accepted, saves most moms eighteen years of misery and false shock when their wee ones disappoint them by being (gasp!) just like every other little diva on the block. So needless to say, getting children to understand why they'll thank us in the future for choosing greens over gobstoppers is not always the easiest of tasks. Enter Voots, the wonder supplement that looks and tastes a lot like candy. Not quite a vitamin, Voots is actually a handy dandy insurance policy that packs the punch of three servings of real fruits and veggies into two little tarts. And they hail from right here in Golden, Colorado where nutrition industry veteran Stephen Adele cooked up the concoction with everyday parents like himself and wife Julia in mind.
|
|
|
Made with 100% real fruits and vegetables, no refined sugars and no artificial flavors colors or sweeteners, Voots help mindful mamas ensure that their little angels are getting the all-natural goodness they need even when they're not around to supervise (think slumber parties, class trips and school cafeterias). We understand that the real thing is best, but we also know that we can't get it right 100% of the time. With Voots, we're covered either way. Voots, $9.99 for a box of 24 at www.eatyourvoots.com or GNC stores nationwide.
